Preorder Bonus
Preordering any edition came with three lobby cosmetics: the Infinity Gauntlet (lobby equipment), Baby Groot (lobby pet) and the Cosmic Surf Board (lobby ride). The game launched Aug 6, 2026 — whether these are still offered after launch wasn't verified in our sources.
Who Should Buy Which
Standard — Buy this if you just want the game and are fine skipping post-launch characters.
Digital Deluxe — Buy this if you know you'll play the DLC characters or want the extra stage.
Ultimate — Buy this only if you want the costumes and colors. Nothing here affects gameplay.
One thing to keep straight: IGN's pre-order article lists 20 launch characters for the Ultimate chromatic unlock. The game actually launched with a 21st hidden character (Champion), unlocked in Episode mode — the cosmetics list predates that confirmation, so treat the "20 launch characters" as IGN's wording.
