Marvel Tokon Day One Patch
The day one patch rolled out around launch (Aug 5–6, 2026) with a long list of fixes — PC CPU load, input priority, PS5 latency and a revision to Danger's dash. This page collects what two sources verified from the official Discord summary, and separates those facts from community-reported performance.
Performance & Visuals
- →PC CPU load optimization. The patch removed unnecessary animation updates that were eating CPU time on PC.
- →UI loading optimization. Menu and HUD loading was sped up, mostly felt on slower drives.
- →Shader warm-up on by default. The pre-match shader warm-up is now enabled by default so stutter is less likely in the first matches.
- →Automatic anti-aliasing fix. Auto-selected anti-aliasing now behaves correctly and no longer accidentally enables DSRSS upscaling.
- →Background character update frequency. You can adjust how often background characters update, which helps on weaker CPUs.
- →Arabic and Thai performance. Localized text rendering in Arabic and Thai got a performance pass.
Inputs & Gameplay
- →Input priority for ↓↘→ motions. Quarter-circle-forward inputs now register more reliably, which matters for supers and specials that use the motion.
- →Danger ground dash revision. Danger's ground dash input was revised so it can cancel into skills — this changes how Danger players convert pressure into combos.
- →Steam online input latency. Online input delay on Steam was reduced with a fix in the network input path.
- →PS5 input latency mitigation. PS5 input latency got a mitigation pass; this was one of the launch complaints.
The Danger change matters beyond her own players: it confirms the team is still tuning individual characters after launch, so treat early-tier placements (including ours) as moving targets.
Online, Streaming & Stability
- →OBS and Discord capture compatibility. Streaming and clip software now captures the game correctly on PC.
- →Multi-monitor switching. Switching between displays while the game is running no longer causes the problems it did at launch.
- →Lobby invisibility. You can now appear offline in lobbies.
- →Challenger Alert disconnect fix. A disconnect that hit players during Challenger Alerts was fixed.
- →Menu crash fix. A crash that could happen in menus was resolved.
Steam Deck & Linux: Not Supported at Launch
The game does not start on Steam Deck or Linux. The official reasoning is Easy Anti-Cheat compatibility — the anti-cheat doesn't support SteamOS/Linux, and the title ships with it mandatory. If you only own a Deck, this is a "check back after a patch" situation rather than a settings fix.
Steam reviews sat around Mixed (roughly 43% positive) at the time of writing. Part of that is review-bombing around the Steam Deck situation and the mandatory anti-cheat, and part is genuine performance complaints on desktop. We list the score only as context — it is a community state, not an official position.
A community manager's comments about the Deck situation drew criticism during launch week. We haven't re-litigated that here; if you are deciding between platforms, treat the Deck question as open-ended until the team publishes a compatibility patch.
The Honest Part
We have not benchmarked the game ourselves. Everything in the lists above comes from the official Discord patch summary as reported by gosugamers and ingamenews — we treat those as the patch facts. The Steam Deck incompatibility, the review score and desktop micro-stutter reports (including on an RTX 5090 + 9800X3D rig) are community reports as of Aug 9, 2026, and may change with the next patch.
